Little Explorers – Wednesdays 10-Noon
Step into adventure and discovery with Little Explorers! Join us for themed story times, crafts, and museum exploration for ages 5 and under!
Little Explorers is FREE & open to the public. Stop by anytime Wednesdays between 10am and noon. Story times start at 10:15 and 11:15.
Wonder of the Week
The Wonder of the Week is a free STEM activity in the museum. A new topic is introduced every Wednesday–Don’t miss it!
Giant Beaver Escape Game
When an arsonist burned the museum in 1924, students ran into the burning building and saved our giant beaver. Now it’s your turn to rescue the beaver before the museum goes up in flames! This game takes place in the museum’s upper floor using elements from our exhibits, the museum archives, and game-specific additions.
(Appropriate for beginners, suggested for ages 12+).

Tickets are $15/person ($12 for EC students, provided as a cash refund on site).
The game is best with 4-8 players. The minimum charge is for four players and eight is the maximum allowed.

Egypt Escape Room
An international research team arrives in 60 MINUTES to learn more about Ta’an, the mummy, but we’re missing one of the scarabs that should be found over her eye! A previous museum director kept the precious scarab hidden so no one could steal it, but alas! He did not pass on its top-secret location to the next museum director. Is Ta’an’s precious jewel lost for good? Or can you crack the clues and find it before the research team arrives?
This uniquely designed escape game takes place in the museum’s lower gallery, using elements from our exhibits, our Egyptian research, and 3D components designed specifically for this game.
You will have 60 minutes to crack codes, find clues, and solve puzzles to find the missing scarab. This isn’t an average weekend activity, this is a challenge for people who like to solve mysteries and puzzles. (Difficulty level: Intermediate/Advanced.)
Successful players earn a commemorative “I Found the Scarab” button, and your group’s photo will be posted on JMM’s Instagram.

Dino Breakout
Can you rescue the dinosaurs before the volcano erupts?
In this special challenge just for kids, you will have 30 minutes to crack codes, find clues, solve puzzles and save the Allosaurus! This isn’t an average weekend activity–this is a fast-paced challenge for people who like to solve mysteries and puzzles.
Birthday parties
Celebrate your birthday at the Joseph Moore Museum with a planetarium show and a live animal experience. Your party will include:
- A private planetarium show, a visit with our reptiles, and a craft
- Time to explore our galleries
- A dedicated space for cake or other food (food and paper products not provided)
- 2-3 party facilitators from our team of trained student guides
- Pin-on birthday party buttons for all kids with a special one for the birthday child!
- $150 for up to 12 kids; $10 per child for each additional child over 12. (Base price is for a 2-hour party that includes all of the above)
- If there are over 25 people (including kids and chaperones, a charge of $25 will be applied.
- The maximum number of people is 30.
- Parties extended past 2 hours will be charged at the cost of $50 per half hour.
- A $50 non-refundable deposit to hold date is due at the time of reservation.
- Balance due may be paid on the day of the party and will be adjusted based on attendance and add ons. No refund will be given for no shows.
- Provide notice of cancellation 48 hours in advance for a refund.
- Custom gift-bag filled with items from our gift shop (prices vary)
